My name is Bret Moffett. I was introduced to photography by my father when I was nine or ten years old. He gave me an old Exakta 500 35mm SLR camera (manufactured in East Berlin) and taught me about the exposure triangle. In high school, I learned how to develop film. Now forty years later, after a long career in technology and engineering, I am getting back into photography. So much photographic technology has changed in the intervening years, but the basics are timeless. Today I am making exposures with my iPhone, a Sony mirrorless camera, a Pentax DSLR, and a compact Olympus. I am using Lightroom Classic for post production. And, yes, I still have the old Exakta. I plan to use it in the future to create a series of film photographs and then digitize them, subject matter to be determined. I have no ambitions with my photography other than to simply enjoy myself. If others appreciate some of my work then I will be surprised and happy.
