Das Festival der Regionen zählt zu den renommiertesten zeitgenössischen Kunstfestivals der Freien Szene in Österreich.

Seit 1993 findet es alle zwei Jahre außerhalb der städtischen Ballungsräume und kulturellen Zentren in Oberösterreich statt.

Mit seinem Ansatz, soziale Themen und alltägliche Lebenswelten mit zeitgenössischer Kunst zu bearbeiten, zielt das Festival auf den Dialog zwischen der Bevölkerung vor Ort sowie lokalen, regionalen und internationalen Künstler*innen ab. Teilhabe wird dabei großgeschrieben.

Das Festival will Spuren hinterlassen, Diskussionsprozesse aufgreifen & in Gang setzen, Veränderungswünsche bestärken oder initiieren, die Bevölkerung in ihren Bedürfnissen ernst nehmen und gemeinsam mit ihr Zukunftsvisionen erarbeiten.

The Festival of Regions is one of the most renowned contemporary art festivals of the independent scene in Austria.

Since 1993 it has taken place every two years outside the urban agglomerations and cultural centres in Upper Austria.

With its approach of dealing with social issues and everyday life worlds with contemporary art, the festival aims at a dialogue between the local population and local, regional and international artists. Participation is a top priority.

The festival wants to leave traces, take up and initiate discussion processes, encourage or initiate wishes for change, take the needs of the population seriously and work out visions for the future together with them.
