From Nigel- Greetings, Welcome and Thanks so much for stopping by! It is you, the viewer who keeps me doing what I do- largely- as a hobby which started in November of 2022.

Prior to that- and now a budding branch- is this Digital restoration- on top of a media-transfer business / proprietorship I have run since 2010.

This is simply a page- MAINLY connected to the Facebook Pages of Remembering Cowichan Lake and Cowichan BC. Connected. You will find everything from Lake Days in Lake Cowichan to Early days of Lake Cowichan, Duncan, Nitinat, Caycuse, Logging Camp 3, Logging Camp 6, Early days of Shawnigan Lake and innumerable class photos from past years of the Cowichan Valley- the majority submitted from friends, family and a growing list of contacts on this journey. There will also be MANY uploads of Annual yearbooks from the Lake Cowichan Schools simply for everyone's enjoyment. You will also find many memories of Hockey Memorabilia from the Lake Cowichan Minor Hockey Association- MANY players of whom I grew up with. Solely for the purpose of being able to upload ALL photos in resolutions HIGHER than 2000 pixels either side- and the ability for ANYONE to view the photos in full resolution without the need of an account.

With a job as a computer tech for Seaside Computers in Duncan for 9 years, Working as a computer tech myself for about 20 years, My late father as a computer consultant since I was old enough to even remember- and a job on the side doing media transfer- this is merely a hobby- but many VERY enjoyable hours are spent doing what you will find.

For the past year I Have had a hobby in Colorizing black & White Photos, Upscaling to 8K Resolution and digital restoration thereof. Hence- you will also find photos of random hobbying- particularly of many nature shots- upscaled and colorized. Almost ALL of the images you see on the site- minus the Hockey pictures- the majority of these all start out as Black and White photos. A high resolution scan is taken and extensive editing is done.
