The Early Learning Coalition of Sarasota County prepares local infants, toddlers and preschool-aged children for lifelong success through access to quality early learning programs. Founded in May 2000 as a result of legislation, the 501(c)(3) serves more than 4,000 children and 150 providers every year. The Coalition administers and oversees the local integrated system of early care and education across Sarasota County. This includes using state and local funds to provide child care financial assistance to income-eligible families and administering the state-funded Voluntary Pre-Kindergarten (VPK) programs for all 4-year-olds.
