Hello

I recently acquired a dedicated camera to use for stills photography. Prior to this my experience was only limited to smartphone usage. My preference is to shoot wide, using a 65:24 "XPAN" aspect ratio to frame landscapes and scenes to achieve what I deem to be a cinematic look. That said, being relatively new to photography, I am open to experiment and try to shoot subjects and in different aspect ratios when and where I can. For now at least, I prefer scenes over subjects.

I shoot in JPEG and do not edit RAW files in post or apply presets to my images. I use in-camera colour profiles and sometimes in-camera LUTs to produce out-of-camera images. For me, the output is important, however I find the process of photography very calming. I am sure I will eventually move on to shoot film... In the future, when I have more time, I would like to try editing RAW files as well.

Photography is capturing an image of a particular point in space & time from a unique frame of reference. These snapshots of spacetime will never occur again. I feel privileged to bear witness.
