I'm a world traveler who enjoys nature and adventures of all kinds. I've explored the known world on business and for pleasure, most extensively in Europe, Africa, North and South America, India and China. I plan to put thousands of photos on Flickr - I just wish I had more time!

From 1995 to the day I retired (June 2008), I managed International Development projects for the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA), mostly in Latin America and Africa.

Before 1995, I worked as a geologist in Canada mostly on projects related to mineral exploration in the Northwest Territories, Nunavut, Quebec and Saskatchewan.

In my spare time, I like to travel, take pictures (photography) and research my family history (genealogy).

I've been retired since June 2008, which for me means that I can now do all the things that I've always wanted to do but never had time before. As my first retirement project, I've taken on to digitize the thousands of negatives and slides that I accumulated between 1969, when I bought my first SLR camera and 2003 when my son gave me my first digital 4 MP point-and-shoot as a Christmas present. Fortunately, I had kept most of this precious collection well organized and mostly in one place.
