Hello! I am Russian. Recently moved to America, New York. I currently live in Manhattan. I study New York history. I admire this great city. A lot of things here were unexpected for me. Including the climate.

I have been doing botany as a hobby all my adult life. In particular, for several years I conducted scientific work at the department of Moscow State University. I studied the history of Russian estate gardening and selection, which were undeservedly forgotten after the revolution in Russia. I described and photographed about 20,000 plants for the encyclopedia, but the project was canceled for political reasons.

Now I am discovering a new world of North American plants and I dream of traveling around the country to learn more about its nature.

As a child, I had another hobby - an aquarium. Of course, fresh water. But for many years I have dreamed of an aquarium with sea water and marine life. And then the dream was forgotten.

In New York, I realized that I would be able to fulfill my dream in time. So thanks to the Coney Island Aquarium, I'm studying marine life.
