Someone told me I should say something about myself....

Well, okay. In the distant past I worked for a daily newspaper for over 15 years. Moved on from there to something more secure. Retired years ago. Made plans but God laughed. I now have limited mobility and I mainly shoot photos near home or from the car. I don't concentrate on any specific subjects although I take a lot of pictures of my dog. My main goal is to make something beautiful from an everyday banal subject. Beautiful, not pretty. There's a big difference. I shoot B&W almost exclusively. No reason other than I like it. I switched to digital around 2007. I'm lazy and do not enjoy the darkroom work required to do film based photography right. I've come to prefer the look of digital images over film. I try to keep my process simple. Digital cameras have powerful processing engines built into them and I let them work for me--I shoot JPEGs and finish them off in Lightroom. Simplicity.
