I started taking pictures as a teenager in the 1960s, carrying a camera (Pentax H3v, a couple of lenses and Tri-X film) everywhere, then processing and printing the film at home. My photos were (and are) mostly candids of people I encountered or of other subjects that drew my attention (objects, animals, flowers, land/seascapes). I wanted the pictures to tell a story, but also to raise questions about the nature of the subjects and how they fit into the world. I published and exhibited some early work, but other things in life took precedence. While much of my earlier work was lost, I kept taking pictures (film and digital). Here is some of my work.
