Hello everyone, I'm Hong Yang, a Chinese photographer currently pursuing a PhD at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University. My life and career have taken me through several cities, including New York in 2016, Hangzhou from 2006 to 2021, and now Hong Kong, where I currently reside.

In New York, I studied darkroom photography at the Fashion Institute of Technology and learned wet plate (Ambrotype) and Daguerreotype techniques under the guidance of Mick Robinson at the Penumbra Foundation Center for Alternative Photography. After returning to China, I actively participated in several small exhibitions, including the "Yige Film Group Exhibition" in Hangzhou in 2016, where my Ambrotype photograph was collected by the renowned mainland photographer Fu Yongjun.

I have owned a Hasselblad 500 C/M medium format camera, a Leica MP 35mm film camera, and a 4x5 Tashihara large format camera for Ambrotype work. From 2011 to 2021, I almost exclusively used film for my work, developing black-and-white film myself and making enlargements. However, as film prices continued to rise, I had to reconsider the economic feasibility of this approach.

During this period, I actively engaged with various photography groups in mainland China and taught darkroom skills in elective courses at Zhejiang University Affiliated High School and at the "Painting Hero" photography organization. I still have a Durst enlarger in my home in mainland China. In 2021, due to the COVID-19 economic crisis, I moved to Hong Kong. In this new environment, I have faced various challenges, but these experiences have also brought new inspiration and perspectives to my photographic work. 大家好，我是洪洋，一名中國攝影師，目前在香港理工大學攻讀博士學位。我的生活和職業生涯曾跨越多個城市，包括2016年的紐約、2006至2021年的杭州，以及我現在居住的香港。

在紐約，我在時裝技術學院學習了暗房攝影，並在Penumbra Foundation Center for Alternative Photography跟隨Mick Robinson先生學習了濕版（Ambrotype）和銀版（Daguerreotype）攝影技術。回到中國後，我積極參與了多個小型展覽，其中包括2016年在杭州舉辦的“一格影社”群展。在這次展覽中，我的濕版攝影作品被大陸著名攝影師傅擁軍收藏。

我曾擁有一台哈蘇500 C/M中畫幅相機、一台徠卡MP 35mm膠卷相機，以及一台用於濕版攝影的4x5 Tashihara大畫幅相機。從2011年到2021年，我幾乎完全使用膠卷進行創作，親自沖洗黑白膠卷並製作放大作品。然而，隨著膠卷價格的不斷上漲，我不得不重新考慮這種創作方式的經濟可行性。

在此期間，我與中國大陸的多個攝影團體積極互動，並在浙江大學附屬中學選修課和“畫英雄”攝影機構教授暗房技術。我在中國大陸的家中仍保留著一台Durst放大機。2021年，由於COVID-19經濟危機，我搬到了香港。在新的環境中，我面臨著各種挑戰，但這些經歷也為我的攝影創作帶來了新的靈感和視角。期待在這裡繼續我的攝影旅程，並與更多志同道合的朋友們交流和學習。
