I'm a scientist by training and have worked in the biotech field for many years. My love of photography began when I was in graduate school taking a course in electron microscopy, a very powerful type of microscope that can visualize the internal parts of single cells. In this course we had to learn every aspect of the technology, including the photography and dark room work. I enjoyed everything about this course, especially the photography, and although my scientific career went in a different direction, the experience sparked my desire to capture interesting images and to look at the world around me with more intensity, and with a sense of wonder.
