Fathima Zainulabideen
Drag to set position!
Hello, My name is Fathima. I am from Seattle Washington. I once thought that I wanted to become a doctor. At the very least I was made to believe it was my own decision to pursue. That's what I was set on doing. However, sometime later I found myself drawn toward capturing memories and making lasting connections. These were not only with people, but connections with places and wildlife. I found myself drawn to photography, and it's how I've fulfilled this love of capturing memories and moments that would otherwise be forgotten, connecting myself to them.
Photography allows me to absorb and appreciate the beauty around me. It reminds me to slow down and reflect on life. Photography inspires me to live an intentional life. Now, I am still learning techniques of photography through landscape and street photography.
Eventually, I want to become a nature photographer/photojournalist. I want to share captured stories of people and places. One of my favorite quotes is “Once you learn to care, you can record images with your mind or on film. There is no difference between the two.” I hope in these coming years I will be open-minded and vulnerable to keep learning photography so that I can deliver what my heart and mind want to tell.
