My name is John Brady, I live in Dublin/Ireland. I had a keen interest in photography at an early age due to my father’s passion for capturing photos. This led to me first starting to take photos at about 12 years old when we had fixed up a Box type camera together. I bought my 1st SLR, a Canon just a few weeks after I started my apprentice when I was just 16. Since then, a camera of some sorts has never been far from my hand. I was on Flickr for a long time and completed 365 three time between 2013 to 2015 before I left when Yahoo sold Flickr. In hindsight this was a mistake, and I should have stayed put.

I started to use Instagram more when I left Flickr. I have a 1000 Door project which I started on Instagram in December 2015, and I had been working away at it until the pandemic came along in 2020. With the lockdowns we had during the following 2 years and because of how that Instagram has changed, I stopped using is and the project stalled, I am now moving back to Flickr to complete the Project, and I still have 514 images to capture.

I'm back now and want to kickstart my photography and some projects I had planned again after the pandemic took a toll on my photography, as it did for many.

I had also setup Photo Tours Dublin in 2018, it was a workshop photography tour which was starting to take off before the pandemic. I am not sure if I will restart the tours again, this is mainly due to safety concerns as it is not the same city it was before the pandemic in Dublin.

I am also looking forward to reconnecting with a lot of the people on here who are still active and seeing the photos again as I always picked up new ideas for everyone.
