Macro photography loses a sense of scale sometimes. While Australia is famed for it's crazy critters people are often shocked by how big or small they are compared to what their expectations were. I started out wanting to use minifigs as a scale against which I could photograph the creatures I was finding, but quickly realised that the colourful backdrops and quirky characters drew viewers in and started conversations about the creatures themselves which I hadn't anticipated. I hope to use the medium to shift people's perspectives a little on some of our lesser known or under-appreciated critters and raise funds for wildlife conservation on the way.
