The experience of creating an image is more important than the final results.

Philip Penman

I retired in 2023 from a career as a mental health professional, but my was first career was a photographer, and now I am again a photographer. My focus is to improve my craft, enjoy the great outdoors pursuing the light, and immersing myself in the process of moments of making photos.

I graduated Brooks Institute of Photography in 1984 and worked in the Los Angeles area as a freelance photographer working in multiple formats for advertising clients. I then I went back to University to earn a Master's Degree, becoming a Licensed Marriage Family Therapist. My 27 year mental health career was serving serving the public at non profit and government agencies.

While my mental health career was starting up, I took a break from photography for several years. During that time the changeover from film to digital happened in photography, what a difference and new challenges. I use mirrorless cameras and an iPhone. What amazing results from these computerized cameras! in late 2025 I added a Nikkormat with a few lenses. to jump back into film photography. The process of film is quite magical and a whole different pace. More adventures are in store as I mix mirrorless digital, phone and film photographic processes. I am having a wonderful time traveling the Western United States in an RV with my wife and pets while making photographs.

I'm living a dream being able to photograph the beauty of this amazing beautiful planet and have a few people see them. I appreciate the views, likes and comments. Flickr is a kind community for me to place my photographs in. I wish you all peace in your process of photography.
