My name is Chris and I am a predominantly a landscape photographer. I am based out of Northern British Columbia, Canada in a city called Prince George. I am drawn to black and white imagery and shoot a mixture of film and digital photos.
My photos are all taken on either a Fuji X-Series Digital system, a Shen Hao 4x5 or my trusty Canon F1N 35mm camera. I draw on people like Michael Kenna, Ansel Adams, Natalie Oberg, and Yousuf Karsh for inspiration. These folks were able to express so much in the range from black to white and I look to bring that kind of emotion and dedication to my own work. I am working on a long-term project that looks at the places where Humans meet the natural world called "Intersection". Growing up in a small resource-based town, I was able to see a different side of industry from many of my peers. I can obviously see how the natural world can be harmed by some of these activities, but I also see the lives and families that are built upon them. I hope to show people that there is still beauty in these places and open a conversation about the balance we need to find between our economy and nature.
