I am an American living in Gascogne, SW France for the last 25+ years. I began photographing as a kind of shorthand to record what I saw and felt when I moved to Europe, like Egyptian cuneiform. Everything I saw here was a big contrast to living and working in Manhattan - I wished to leave the comfortable, territory of America and experience the culture here, not just as a visitor. The camera was not just a tool, it was my friend. It was my witness. Photography is for me, the most eloquent language I know.

My photos are shot with Leica and Hasselblad equipment. If the camera isn't heavy, I don't trust it.

I am omniverous, My shots are still lifes, village street life, people making music, you-name-it.

It is a great privilege to share them with you as I go on.

The portrait of me is by David Tothill.
