This all started when I was unimpressed with my old point-n-shoot digital camera from over 20 years ago. In 2016, I went all in with a Nikon D500 thinking "how hard could this photography thing be?". Well, it's been an eye opening experience. Slowly, I've been turning off the automatic settings and figuring out how best to take shots (making a lot of mistakes along the way :) ). Lately, I've been focused on composition since I'm realizing that my thousands of photos from around Ohio are a bit boring. I've also been spending a lot of time digging through older photos to find some hidden gems that I can make spiffy using my new skills with all these wonderful photo editing tools like Adobe Lightroom, DxO's Nik Collection, and Luminar Neo.

My favorite photos tend to be deep dark mysterious mystical woodsy scenes. My favorite places to shoot are off in the woods of some nature trail that is rarely used, especially around the Hocking Hills area of Ohio since it's somewhat close to home.
