All of my work here is a part of the 'Life on the Mesa' series. The 'Mesa' is Taos mesa in New Mexico. 'Life' is trying to express existing in such a beautiful and harsh environment.

The photos are taken with a 1970's Minolta SRT202 film camera without a light meter, which the it does have but one cannot get mercury batteries any more. None of the photos are touched up - they are all one offs. In some of the darker images there are white spots which are pixels, the result of the digitizing process at the lab. I have all of the original negatives which when developed are much more striking than these scans can ever be.

I have no preference of brand / type of film. I use everything from 3200 iso to 8. I use mainstream - Kodak - and funky off brands - Fomapan, Fantome.

I often forget what I have loaded in the camera, resulting in some nice looks.
