I was graduated in Biological Sciences from the Federal University of Viçosa (1995), Masters in Genetics and Improvement from the Federal University of Viçosa (1999), PhD in Ecology (Wildlife Conservation and Management) from the Federal University of Minas Gerais (2004) and post-doctorate in Anthropology (2013) from the University of Wisconsin, Madison, WI, United States. I'm an Associate Professor Level IV of the Department of Forestry Engineering, Federal University of Viçosa, Viçosa, Minas Gerais. I'm alson the current coordinator of the UFV's Saguis-da-Serra Conservation Center, and I advise on postgraduate programs (master's and doctoral levels) in Forest Science, Ecology and Animal Biology, all from the Federal University of Viçosa (UFV). Between 2005 and 2007, I was president of the Brazilian Society of Primatology and, between 2007 and 2009, I served as deputy treasurer. I was elected second secretary of the Brazilian Societies of Mastozoology (SBMz) and Primatology (SBPr) for the 2017-2019 terms. I also acts as coordinator for Brazil of the Primate Specialist Group, associated with the Species Survival Commission (PSG / SSC), a division of the International Union For Conservation Of Nature and Natural Resources (IUCN). I was the president of the Center for Ecological Studies and Environmental Education (CECO-MG) between 2006 and 2014, and I am one of the founding members of the Atlantic Forest Research Institute (IPEMA) and the Muriqui Biodiversity Institute (MIB), acting as the scientific advisor of the MIB. I have my professional register with the Regional Board of Biology - 4a region - and I have extensive experience in Ecology and Zoology, with an emphasis on Animal Species Conservation and Applied Ecology, working mainly on the following topics: biodiversity, primates, landscape ecology, conservation, management of fauna, mammals and endangered fauna.
