From toothpaste to paints, and buildings to plates, the mining of industrial minerals, construction materials, dimension stones and semi-precious stones are intrinsic to everyday life. But despite their potential to impact the livelihoods of millions of people, both positively and negatively, these minerals have been neglected in development debates. The ACP-EU Development Minerals Programme will support knowledge exchange across Africa, the Caribbean and Pacific to improve the profile, and the management, of Development Minerals.

The ACP-EU Development Minerals Programme Phase II is an initiative of the Organisation of African, Caribbean and Pacific States (OACPS), coordinated by the Secretariat of the OACPS, financed by the European Commission and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and implemented by UNDP. Its Flickr account aims to demonstrate both country-level activities (Cameroun, Guinea, Uganda, Zambia, Fiji, and Jamaica) and Global & regional-level activities of the ACP-EU Development Minerals Programme, which not only showcases tangible contributions of the programme implementation, but also visualizes the fruitful partnership and cooperation of OACPS, EU, and UNDP.

We selected a series of pictures and categorized them in chronological and thematic order. The photo albums have labeled the name of the field country to better display the global contributions. The photos are chosen from the programme process, online conference, our beneficiaries, etc.
