Great believer in recycling.
The wagons are scratchbuilt to one eighth scale using old door frames (parana pine); tinplate tyres; nails are threaded to become bolts; nuts are square section metal cut off and threaded to suit the bolts; metalwork donated from wire coat hangers; chains are rolled from soft iron wire.
Joinery is true mortice and tenon (no butt joints!) No glues!
The railway is sourced from cereal boxes, lollipop sticks, coax cables (for trees and drainpipes) ,bleached photographic film, assorted grades of sawdust become roads, foliage, track beds and wall rendering.
