I’ve been running around with a camera in my hand since I was a child growing up in Mayfield Village, a suburb of Cleveland, Ohio. I’ve been enjoying photography ever since. I come to photography from the technical side having had a forty year career in broadcast engineering the last half of which serving as director of engineering for Cleveland’s public television station, WVIZ-TV and the last several years of WCPN-FM. I retired from broadcasting in 2006 and am now spending more time pursuing my love of photography.

During the film years I used mostly Olympus SLR cameras, sometimes processing my film and prints in the color darkroom I had until 2006. As the field switched from film to digital I moved from Olympus to Nikon cameras and am currently shooting with a D810.

I enjoy all types of photography but if forced to choose I guess I would have to say that I especially enjoy travel photography, nature photography and photographing people and events. I’ve very recently become involved with the 100 Strangers Project and am trying to learn to make photographs in that genre. I am a proud member of the Cleveland Photographic Society, an organization in operation since 1878. I am currently serving as a Lightroom instructor for CPS. I currently live with my wife, Kay, by the beautiful Chagrin Valley in Moreland Hills, a Cleveland suburb only eight miles from where I grew up.
