I'm a Yorkshireman in my late‑60s I just enjoy getting out with the camera — I simply point the camera and hope for the best — so it's astonishing to have amassed over 28 million views.
I enjoy wandering through villages and photographing pubs and clubs, churches, war memorials, shops, ponds, lakes, rivers — anything else that catches my eye. I see my images as a record of our social history. I’m a member of English Heritage and the National Trust and I occasionally visit historic sites.
I try to make a point of acknowledging people I follow and showing appreciation for their photos, though I don't use favourites. I welcome friendly feedback—nothing too technical, please—as I'm not a highly skilled photographer. I'm not into AI-generated images; they're simply not for me.
I'm happy to join groups and share my photos, but if administrators add too many rules and make things overly complicated, I'll simply leave.
