It's always a double act, with my partner Nic Cave-Lynch and his passion of stage lighting. His focus is to follow the music and make the performers look good. Mine is to follow the lighting and showcase what the performance looked like.

Nic's special talent is to make the lighting work for one-off acts he's never heard before, instinctively following where the music takes him. The photos are for the performers, so they can see what they looked like on stage; and they cover wide spectra of local NZ/international/mixed and amateur/seasoned/pro. I'm delighted that they've been used so much for promoting NZ music, both online and in print, and even in exhibitions.

They're not all great shots, especially my early attempts from 2010; and some nights the venue was just awkward or my timing was off. But they're here for the record, which includes shots of everyone on stage. And for a longer record, they've been donated to the archives of the Alexander Turnbull Library, as a random time capsule of NZ's music scene.

I've sorted them into albums, one for each gig (including support acts), and they're all tagged and captioned with band names and individual names wherever possible so you can search for a particular person or band or show. You're welcome to message me if you want help with anything.
