I didn't know what a wetland project was when I first heard the term, but I've spent the past few years photographing the various wildlife that depends on these wetlands, and learning why we must continue to support wetland projects and reestablish areas that have been damaged. Wetlands support many creatures that live there year-round, as well as seasonal, migratory, and nesting birds.

During certain months of the year the wildlife is easily observed by anyone who visits. Within a mile or two you may find a hundred herons, hundreds of ducks and geese, thousands of flocking birds, small herds of deer, or swans in large numbers filling the ponds. Other times you need to slow down and be observant. Frogs, snakes, eagles, hawks, beaver, turtles and various mammals all call the wetlands home.
