Greetings! I'm a hobby photographer and wildlife & nature enthusiast from central Pennsylvania, USA. My late uncle first introduced me to photography when he gifted me a Kodak point-and-shoot camera as a child. I have fond memories of dropping off film canisters at a small booth in the parking lot of the Sears store at the mall and then anxiously waiting to pick-up your prints to see which ones "turned out okay". In the early 90's, I took a couple college classes on my first Canon Rebel analog camera and learned darkroom developing. Over the years I've upgraded cameras/lenses and continue to do my best to keep up with the new systems and editing technologies. I'm currently using a Canon R5 with a couple RF and adapted EF lenses. I still pull-out my Canon 5D Mark IV as well.
My current endeavors are to achieve significant improvements on my BIF images and to continue to cross-off many more birds/animals from my life lists. Due to being partially disabled from a condition called hypermobile Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome, I can't get around as well as I used to, but I'm fortunate to have a house amongst the Appalachian Mountain range of Pennsylvania surrounded by multiple eco-systems including forest, low-land streams, and beautiful countryside. My fiance and I have a strong focus on sustainability and land-management. We plant many native trees/flowers and we're currently working on our Penn State Master Gardener application/certification. The result of our efforts is a property that affords me many opportunities to photograph all sorts of creatures and fauna right in our own yard. I also love visiting national wildlife refuges and our local parks like the Ned Smith Center for Nature & Arts (Millersburg) and Wildwood Lake & Nature Center (Harrisburg). I enjoy meeting new people and especially fellow photographers. So if you see me on the trail, please be sure to stop and say hi!
