I retired from the Coast Guard in 2017, and decided to use my right brain again. I hadn’t done any “artwork” since I was a kid, and discovered colored pencil in 2018. I started drawing the animals at the nature center where I volunteer. I’ve done a few people (with pets!) and landscapes, but I seem to draw a lot of pets. I’m still experimenting, always on the hunt for the perfect pencil and perfect paper! It’s a lifelong journey.
