Hello Flickrites, Jim here.

I was born in Santiago, Chile and emigrated to the United States when I was 10 years old.

I have been interested in watching wildlife and enjoying their natural settings for as long as I can remember, slipping away whenever possible to the four corners of my home State of Washington.

For a yet to be determined reason, I decided I needed a quest and the idea of photographing every bird species native to Washington was born. I mean, how many could there be.

Two years later and 213 species recorded and I only have another 310 or so to go. What was I thinking !

I say this with a smile on my face because truth be told, I've enjoyed every moment I have spent doing it. Unexpected weather changes, slightly out of focus shots, too bright, too dark, "The Tailfeather King" my daughter's call me, when it's not too close to Christmas or one of their birthdays, is all part of the fun. They have been after me for some time to share some of these pictures, so I will take the plunge even though the great images I've seen on this site make it a bit intimidating.
