I am old, and find myself looking at odd, indecipherable Mesopotamian gold-leafed goats. Content is mortal, as are people and societies. As the beautiful, loved, complex life around me burns in various ways, these tidbits are treated as if they are worlds. The images are assembled from multiple, macro focus stacks that are frequently too large to be fully shown in the generous space provided here. While l enjoy true macro imagery (who doesn't), it is not the macro I'm after. Instead I am greedy. I lust after the almost visible detail that lurks just barely outside of normal vision. Some of these images may print up 6 or 7 feet long. People can see a leaf, for example, in their own way and for a long time. There is no single "view" in these works. Sometimes, there are reflected portions of the completed photograph until the organic material assembles itself into another image: a surreal kind of weaving perhaps?

I am a sculptor, painter and photographer.
