This is a collection of Joe Marino’s fire service photography. Joe was a prolific fire service photographer starting in the early 1970s through the 2000s. He was a founding member of the Connecticut fire photographer’s association and also was a dedicated firefighter with the Kensington Volunteer Fire Department. Before his fire department work he was a photographer in the military photographing a helicopter squadron. After the military Joe returned to the New Britain CT area and was a supernumerary police officer in New Britain CT and started working for a local photography studio doing weddings in commercial work. In his off time, he started photographing the fire service. Traveling around the country and around the New England area photographing major fires apparatus and firefighters. He has left us with an extensive collection of images through this period. Here we share those images with the rest of the world. Please sit back and look and enjoy the work. It has been a labor of love to bring this to you.
