I have just starting out researching about my ancestors after finding a box with WW1 photographs and letters that belonged to my great-grandfather. If you have any idea about what units these people might have beloged to (or any other info) please contact me :) My family is based in Munich, Germany.

The relative I have a special interest in is Martin Hagn, the half brother of my great grandfather. Through many letters translated from Sütterlin (old German writing), I found out that he died shortly before the end of WW1 at the Dagerik position in Belgium. Many thanks to the "In Flanders Fields" museum for their support with finding the exact location and "Sütterlinstube Hamburg e. V." for the superb translation work! Now my next task is to trace his way through the hell of WW1.

Here is a continously updated list of units and places I tracked:

1915 December - Infanterist in the 6. Bay. Landwehr Division, Landwehr Regiment Nr. 2 I. Bat., Komp. 3(?) 1. Landwehr Brig.
