Mats Claus got introduced to photography at a very young age. His grandfather, being a avid photography lover, never let a chance go to waste to document his grandsons life whenever he could.

After his passing in 2006 Mats Claus got intriged by his grandfather's analog Canon AE-1 Program camera when he was 14 years old.

Not long after, he went to De!Kunsthumaniora in Antwerp to study Audiovisual Forms.

During his studies together with Fréderic Paulussen they started a project named 'Shutter Photography' (2008-2013).

As heavy music lovers and practitioners they started shooting nightlife events. After 6 short months , Fréderic decided to pursue other things.

Mats went on to chase his dream to shoot all kinds of Dj's and major events mainly in the Drum & bass music scene. Meeting Netsky early in the musician's career was for sure a lucky break. Shutter photography ended up being a 6 headed collective made out of classmates of Mats Claus.

Shutter Photography did not just stay with Mats Claus being a photographer but also the Manager and Leading Director of this collective that also created videoclips , aftermovies and short musical promoclips.

Having clients at the time with the likes of Rampage, Stealth Bombers, Star Warz, Black Sun Empire, Noisia, Netsky, Circus Records and having shot events in The Netherlands, The United Kingdom and Austria.

Producing the videoclip in 2011 for ' Rusko - Everyday ( Netsky Remix ) was the cherry on the top after all those years.

Being the most viewed upload on the UKF drum & bass youtube channel ever, nearly reaching 30 million views and at the time being broadcasted on all Belgian music channels on Tv.

Having a 5 years hiatus of regular payed assignments but more focusing on his own skills and finding a new direction in his work he spent more time travelling trough Europe and went on a 16 month trip troughout New Zealand troughout 2019 and 2020.

Having a focus on the purity of an image , often upclose , colourfull and having an eye and patience for detail & sharpness his work for you will never dissapoint.
