For me, photography is more of an attitude than an act.

I learned myself photography at the age of 15 with the help of books and magazines in the 1970s and have been an avid amateur ever since. My first equipment consisted of a Praktica L camera with a Meyer-Optik Domiplan 50mm. lens and an Meopta Axomat II enlarger. As a young boy I was perfectly happy with these tools, and learned the photographic basic techniques thoroughly with this modest setup.

It was only a few years ago that I got excited about digital camera's and their amazing possibilities.

In my obsessive search for a proper black and white conversion in the digital domain, Sigma/Foveon may be the affordable way to go. Rich in detail but not etched, gradation truthfulness and contrast fidelity without a sentimental penchant for film simulation.
