Hello, I live in Brighton UK and set up this account as a space for my photos of the fox family who live near me. I started watching the foxes in Spring of 2020 when I spotted a cub with her head stuck in a tub. The brilliant team from East Sussex Wildlife Rescue managed to catch the cub, give her a clean and some antibiotics and return her to her earth. Footage of the rescue can be watched here: www.youtube.com/watch?v=W0xyLiHYI3w
The family still present in 'Fox Villas' (spring 2021) are;
- Ambergris, the beautiful amber-eyed, doting matriarch.
- Leo the patriarch who seems a little older than Ambergris and sometimes looks a little sore as if he has arthritis.
- Mouseface, the smallest and most submissive 2020 cub who has mastered the art of treading very softly and trying to be as invisible as possible. She also has a penchant for toys, especially balls.
- Bandy, a stripy boy born in 2020 who has amber eyes and markings at the top of his snout that make him appear forever quizzical.
- Limpy, a stripy girl cub who had a limp for a while which she has since recovered from. She looks similar to her brother Bandy but she has darker little brown pebble eyes that are closer together. She reminds me of a womble.
- Shy, who I think is one of Ambergris' daughters from a previous litter. They often sit with each other peacefully with Ambergris grooming Shy, but not the other way round. If Shy spots me, she tends to run off but then often lingers in the bushes to watch me back with curiosity.
In 2020 there was also Ginger who was quite a cheeky, opportunistic and funny fox and Storm, the dominant non-stripy male cub born in 2020.
