Photographs are works of art; attempts to communicate and to share ones perceptions, and your best friend and main tool is your intuition and insight. The ancient Greeks called this 'entelechy' (ἐντελέχεια or 'entelékheia')

(defined as: that which realizes or makes actual what is otherwise merely potential; a concept from which the words intellect and intelligence are derived. What we lack though is a simple verb form of this - to intell - Intellect and intelligence involve the ability to 'intell' or 'to see or understand the cause or essence of'; 'to grok').

You learn new skills and ways to bring life to your work by controlling or complementing the intuition involved in attaining the magic. Maybe what you hope to become is a magician, conjuring and depicting beauty and fact out of light, matter and air.
