James Reade Venable ( b. 1978, USA) is a photographer based in New York City and Brussels.

He is the 2x winner of London Photo Festival's Monthly Competitions and was shortlisted in 2023 for the Storytelling Category in the 500px Global Photography Awards and a finalist in Dodho's Monochromatic 2023 Awards. His photo 'Blood Chapel' was Best In Show for Inscape Journal's Visual Arts Category 2023

His photos have been published in several publications including F-Stop, Black + White Photography and Dodho, and many more.

Since the mid -2000's James has been working on a combination photography and poetry book focusing on the subway system of NY.

James directed the music video "Doormat Daddy" for the NYC band The Allegations which was an official selection of the Rome Music Video Awards.

James is available for hire and is willing to travel anywhere, under any conditions and open to all commissions.
