About Me:

Discovering fashion, textiles and materials for me was one of the great turning points in my life. It allowed me to start dressing for expression and for myself rather than to meet certain standards. This may be standards in the clothing world, the art world and also the textiles and photography worlds. Fashion has allowed for a new way of thinking. As an aspiring fashion journalist, I take great interest in the 'weirder' side of fabric and photography. I like the androgyny, the abstract and the unknown. For me, looking into collections and edits that are not the 'norm' is something that is exciting.

Here on this Flickr page, I'd like to showcase my abstract brain. I like to work with materials to manually edit my images and existing art. I like to break boundaries with what I can (or can't) do. Photography has always been a passion of mine, however, the idea that digital editing is the only editing didn't sit right with me. Within my studies at college, I managed to break through these stigmas and think about fabric and materials as a way of editing. I'd like to bring this to a fashion communication degree as I feel as if the industry could do with a second look into acceptance and expression.

Writing and putting things into words has always been a passion of mine. Even coming out as an openly gay woman was expressed in a letter form to my family. I find it captivating and the best form to communicate and discuss ideas with others. This is why I'd like to combine my love of fashion, art, textiles, photography and materials with my passion for writing and journalism.
