Selling an extremely rare, mechanically excellent 2005 Audi S4 V8 4.2L Sedan, 6-speed Manual Transmission with 340 Horsepower. Car is available now. Call/text to arrange closeup inspection, will meet at public places like Walmart in Beville Road.

I am an international student in Florida, and a certified car mechanic. Bought this Audi in 2018 and took really good care of the car. Has plenty of new parts, and in my opinion this S4 will last you at least 5-8 years without any major mechanical work. It is a real shame that I have to sell this car since I am leaving U.S. in the next few weeks. Bought it when it had 155,600 miles from Chicago, Illinois after doing lots of research and searching for the perfect manual V8, and driven down to FL myself in a 20 hour drive road journey. It was unforgettable. I've only put 6,000 miles on it in the past 2 years, didn't drive much, and drove it very softly and nicely. It was a true pleasure and joy to own an amazing naturally aspirated V8 such as this S4, which is in mechanically excellent condition. Drives lovely, roars like a tiger, and jumps off like a rocket. I am quite sad to sell this car because if I could, I'd keep it forever.

As a mechanic, I have done 1 minor repair and 2 major repairs on this car: (probably $1400~$2000 worth of work, including diagnostics, servicing if I took to a Workshop )

Minor: Replaced the Coolant Reservoir that was leaky

Major: The High Pressure Power Steering Fluid Return Hose (that goes from the steering rack back to powersteering pump) ruptured as it aged 15 years. Immediately stopped driving the car that day (it was in summer of 2019), ordered a replacement hose and repaired.

Valve cover gaskets, Intake manifold gaskets, fuel injector O-rings, oil filter housing gasket and o-ring was replaced last month. This completely eliminated the minor oil leak, cylinder 2 misfire and oil flooding and excessive oil burn the car had. With this I replaced the ignition coil pack for Driver side 2nd Cylinder as well.

All in all, I've put around 50 hours of man-hours into this car for the repairs. Not counting another 40 hours lovingly spent adding the DRL, the car infotainment system (with GPS and Wifi Antennas) and the unfinished blindspot detection system (i've done some wiring only, you'll get the kit with the car if you want to complete this), and Passive Keyless Entry (PKE) also not completed, but receiver antennas have been installed in the A-pillars.

I did succeed in modernizing the car quite a bit, so it doesn't feel like a car from early 2000. Completely replaced all the yellow interior light bulbs to a Cold White LED bulbs, added an Audi Logo Light projector at the bottom of all doors for premium feel, and changed some stock yellow bulbs to Red LED bulbs. The headlight Daylight Running Lights look amazing, it's a strip of 16 LED that stays white all times, and when you put the turn signal it flows with orange LED towards the turn. Go look at the Flickr Album for the recorded video.

The only major issues with the car:

-Front Passenger side Window does not work (window motor is broken)

-The aftermarket Car Infotainment System I bought for $300 became faulty and cannot detect bluetooth nor play any sound so the car has no sound whatsover and rearview camera input only works for the first 5 minutes after booting up. This, I will give you a choice - I can remove this infotainment system, and replace it with Audi Stock CasettePlayer unit. This way you will get your sound system back, but you will be stuck with a 20 year old piece from museum.

The infotainment unit was $300, it still can provide GPS navigation, Wifi browsing by connecting to Hotspots, and Rearview Camera (only when the unit has just rebooted. The unit can no longer show rearview camera 5 minutes after fullly booting up)

You will have to buy a different car infotainment unit for the sound to be playing. I've seen $50~$200 units in Amazon and if you get it before I leave, I can help you with the installation.

Minor Issues

-'Check Engine Light (CEL)' is always on. I will NOT erase this just to deceive the buyer. I will give you the OBD2 tool I bought for $60 so you can use it yourself. The issues detected by the ECU are two: 'Secondary Air Injection System Insufficient Flow' and 'O2 Sensor Circuit Slow Response'. These two are caused by the Oxygen Sensor that are supposed to be in the exhaust manifold being unplugged. When I bought the car from Chicago, the previous owner had the oxygen sensor unplugged from the exhaust manifold, for reasons unknown. Mechanically speaking, this will cause the car to basically detect all the oxygen in the air (since is unplugged) instead detecting trace quantity from the exhaust gas, and this will cause the ECU (engine control unit) to inject more fuel to the cylinders because it thinks there's too much oxygen and not enough gasoline in the cylinder. The end result is, your car will use more fuel (bad), engine will run cooler (good), exhaust gas will have more incomplete combustion (a little more smoke than normal - bad). But this has very little effect on the long term, and will not cause any issues at all for the car other than black exhaust tips and maybe a dirty muffler. TL;DR: It's not much of a problem, really.

-Headlight Range limiter motor stopped working, so the headlight does not really adjust automatically anymore. This is er, not really an issue. S4 will bug you constantly with a 'dipping headlight' icon on the gauge cluster.

-Fuel level sensor is a a little misaligned, so when the tank is actually empty, it indicates 25% full. Likewise, when tank is full, the needle will not move until the fuel goes below 75%. I did not have the time to look into this, since it's not a big issue, I just think the fuel sensor is positioned incorrectly so its always reading 25% more. Does not affect driving or the range, just a minor thing to remember.

Very minor issues

-I've replaced all the headlight bulbs to aftermarket LED 'lamps' for much more modern white/blue hue, and the electric resistance is different from the original bulb, obviously, and the S4 doesn't like that. So when you plug the key to ignition, S4 will tell you there's a problem with the headlight lamps. No there isn't.

Every extras you see in the album will be included: 10 qts of oil, 2 new oil filters, 8 almost-new sparkplugs, mats etc. Also, there are tons of other goodies I've purchased but never got to apply on the car, such as Nanoceramic coatings (from famous brand), cosmetic repair fluids and cleaning agents, LED DRL for rear taillamps, a full two set of mechanic tool set (from Walmart and Autozone) and other spanners and tools, incase you will need them (I'm very confident that you won't).

Currently I still need to drive the car to my school which is 20mi away, and I expect to finish the course in mid-January. So the car will be available then, but you're welcome to come for a close look and test-drive.

I fully guarantee you will absolutely love this beast of a car the moment you start the engine and hear this amazing V8 roar in your face. And I'm extremely confident that you will have no regrets with this car, as a mechanic I assure you and daresay you will NOT find another S4 in this condition.

Summary of Features/Issues

__________________________________________________________

Condition/Features:

-Purchased at Chicago,IL and driven down myself to Daytona Beach, FL in November 2018.

-Mechanically excellent condition. I am a certified mechanic, car was maintained with professionalism.

-Moderate oil burn (typical characteristic of Audi, not abnormal), about 1 QT every 150~300 miles depending on how it is driven.

-Strong Clutch engagement and instant power and acceleration response

-Check Engine Light (CEL) is always on for minor issues - Airflow and Oxygen Sensor incorrect value. As everyone knows, 'CEL' can be easily erased with OBD2 tools but that's dishonest. The detected issue is about Airflow sensor not detecting enough flow and Oxygen Sensor detecting erroneous oxygen range in exhaust gas. This is because the car came with Oxygen Sensor unplugged, I am not sure why. However, I've driven this monster of a car for 2 years, and these two issues do not affect the car's performance in any way. The engine runs rich because of unplugged O2 sensor which will give you a slightly higher fuel consumption. Other than that the car is excellent. There were very little carbon buildup in the intake port/valves, meticulously verified when I replaced the Valve cover gaskets.

-Vehicle runs and roars beautifully, amazing power reserve that is instantly available to you

-No rattle, no oil/fluid leaks whatsoever

-Excellent handling (All Wheel Drive)

-Never raced/drifted/thrashed/driven hard. Very rarely gone above 3500 RPM during my ownership

-Commuted from Home to School (5 miles), Walmart (5mi) and about 20 trips to Orlando (50mi)

-Engine/Fluid condition checked every week

-Braking performance is still excellent (never braked hard, always soft braking)

-Airconditioning and Heating works perfectly. Seat heating also works perfectly.

-Absolutely NO engine tampering/modifications. Everything is either stock or as it was purchased in 2018 from Chicago, Illinois.

-Never rented out. Only carried myself and occasionally my wife during her visit to the US. Very rarely carried any other friends.

-Always parked in a shaded area whenver possible.

-Modernized - Cold White LED lights, DRL, Car infotainment system (unfortunately no sound) with GPS & WiFi receiver and Android 8.0

-The car came with only 1 Key FOB. I purchased an extra FOB with matching serial code, but just needs programming (which I didnt get to do it). The key blade however I had it grinded so it does work as emergency key.

Possible Work/Repair Parts needed

(The vehicle has zero drivability/mechanical problems)

-Oxygen Sensor came unplugged for unknown reason when I bought the car and I am not sure why. The vehicle probably runs always rich due to this. No foreseeable harm/detriment to the engine other than slightly higher fuel consumption.

-Front Passenger side Window motor is broken. Window cannot be electrically lowered/closed.
