MyNDIR-IDG stands for My Norse Digital Image Repository - Insight Development Grant.

The IDG (Insight Development Grant) consisted of funding from SSHRC (Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council) to research, discuss and disseminate the Victorian/Edwardian era re-tellings of Old Norse Mythology, and to add images from the re-tellings to MyNDIR: myndir.uvic.ca/ . The IDG project was completed in 2024.

As of July 9, 2025, our Flickr page continues to evolve as a work in progress. The members of the MyNDIR-IDG Team are working on adding descriptions, citations and tags to the image files on Flickr. All of the Flickr images are also available on MyNDIR’s site with additional features, such as links to early print book reviews; links to e-books; links to manuscript archives; research notes etc. All of the images in our Flickr albums are in the Public Domain.

The MyNDIR site currently contains 429+ illustrations from manuscripts and early print books that are not on our Flickr page and can be viewed on MyNDIR: myndir.uvic.ca/
