When I was 6 years old, I started photography with a simple box-camera, with only one shutterspeed and two choices for aperture.

Next came a russian Lubitel and, later still, a Ricoh SLR.

On any photo from my youth you can see me busy with a camera…..

When I grew older, I was too engulfed with work and my children. Photography was largely (although not completely) restricted to a kind of snapshots of the family.

Now I am 66 years old (born 1959), living in the Netherlands (Groningen), having more time for a hobby like photography.

I like shooting analog, have a tendency for GAS (Gear Aquisition Syndrome), have quite a few cameras.

I appreciate watching the work of others. It inspires, helps me to break new ground....

Even though some of my cameras are quite expensive, I enjoy making photos with the simplest and cheapest of camera’s. And there's nothing wrong with using a mobile phone....

The quality of a photo often does not depend on the quality of the camera but the talent of the photographer.
