The YAI Arts Open Studio supports people with autism and other developmental or intellectual disabilities looking to advance their creative voice and expand their creative community. We offer mentorship from working artists and opportunities to submit work for exhibition.
Jimmy Tucker is an artist with YAI ARTS and has been a member at YAI for over 20 years. Jimmy has developed 160 superhero characters including people with disabilities. He has exhibited his work at Sotheby's, MoMA's Cullman Education Center, Jennifer Lauren Gallery in Manchester, UK, Flux Factory in Brooklyn, Art Enables in Washington, DC, and the NYC Mayor's Office for People With Disabilities. He co-designed a 30 foot mural, which is installed at YAI's executive offices in Manhattan, He works at Frost Valley Summer Camp with children and young adults with disabilities. Jimmy enjoys going to the movies, movie trivia, anime and hanging out with his friends.
