My Vision: I take my view of the world around me seriously, but with great interest and respect as an observer. And the way I see it, I have fun with it. I try to focus on the most appealing, attractive and interesting aspects of my compositions. Sometimes I just document history, and other times I hope to capture and create an image of something unique as I observed it, or visually illustrate a concept that I created for it. Thanks for your interest in my photographic vision.

My Photography: I've been called a photo-grapher. Probably because most people that know me realize that I seem to photograph everything. One of my favorite subjects to document, illustrate and convey, is transportation, specifically railroading. Whether it's the infrastructure, the equipment or the people that make it work, I have always found this fascinating, or at least interesting. Although I have been told by many that I apparently like trains, I consider myself a photographer photographing trains rather than a railfan taking pictures. With this theme, my Flickr account here has a primary focus on railroad photography, my passion.

My Admiration: There are many other photographers and literary artists whose work I admire. Everyone's vision and perspective is unique, and I find this very inspiring, sometimes motivating. Just like another creative art form, music, there are so many different variants to experience. There is literally something for everyone, and it can be a fascinating journey learning just what that something is, and how that something changes, builds, and evolves for each of us personally. Sound corny? Have you ever been pulled into a scene, a picture or a video and interested, amused or even captivated? Good. I hope I caused some of that. After all, that must be our intentions, or we wouldn't be here sharing our images and writings with each other. So, thanks! - Dave
