My Flickr collection began with a set depicting the demolition of Bournemouth's old police station and I thought the album may provide some historical interest for the enthusiast. (And, let's face it, one would have to be fairly enthusiastic to view that sort of stuff!)

After that modest beginning, I decided to create an archive of material that combines the 'obvious' shots with views that few - or none - seem to have captured. My general aim is to compile a library of what I refer to as 'Good Quality Mundane' photographs, particularly of my local area, and I personally think my work is best viewed in album form where it is in some sort of context.

It's strange to think that these little snaps will one day be history of a lost time. Even in the few years that I've been taking photos, I've captured some scenes and buildings that are no longer there. For that reason I am grateful to all photographers, professional and amateur, who, 20 or 50 or 100 years ago, got out and about with their cameras and immortalised the times and places in which they lived. They have done us a great service, I think.

I hope, in turn, these photos may mean something to someone out there.
