A Little About Me:
I have been on Second Life for many years, but only started taking pictures to upload to Flickr from Second Life in September of 2020. I hope to develop my style as time goes by, and share what I do with those that are interested. I particularly like landscapes, but plan on experimenting with various subjects while I find my way. I enjoy viewing other's work, and commenting on those I find interesting, or wish to give a constructive critique, or compliment. I also like to receive critiques of my work, whether criticism or compliment.

My Pictures:
I upload only pictures taken in Second Life. From the pictures I have taken for Flickr, I try to show only what I like to see myself and wish to share publicly. I hope that people enjoy viewing what I have captured. So far I have not used any post production image manipulation tools, although I may try this in the future. The only manipulation I have used, in some cases, is Second Life lighting tools, and de-rendering of objects in the frame to improve the aesthetic of the image from my point of view. I hope to expand my library of upload worthy images in the future, however, I plan to remove those that I do not find as appealing over time, to keep the collection weighted toward quality over quantity. The majority of pictures I have taken for this purpose have been uploaded and are currently viewable in my Photostream. I am starting to change this as my personal Second Life image inventory increases.

Other's Pictures, and those that are my Favorites:
I try to limit my favorites to those taken in Second Life, and ones that are generally appropriate for all ages. At first I considered limiting the number of these, but have now decided that there is no harm in keeping more pictures here than I originally considered keeping because I want to recognize those that have taken them for longer. I comment on them because I have some particular artistic interest that I wish to share. I give my reasons why I find them appealing, have an artistic point to make about them, or sometimes ask a question concerning the uploader's reason for making the choices they did in their composition, or a suggestion I think may enhance it.

Groups:
I have decided to be a member of groups that have postings that are generally similar to my taste. I have found that I'd rather have the quality and kind of image be the emphasis, rather than the quantity of "faves". Receiving positive recognition for the pictures I post on Flickr is nice. However, the seemingly endless attempt to garner favor from countless other members, by pushing my pictures out onto multiple groups, seems a fruitless endeavor for my purposes here, since this is not my objective. So I have left groups that have members for which this seems to be their goal. Also, I have noticed that many posts to groups were not screened for that group's ostensible purpose, and included such things as so called adult content and ads, so I left these as well. My goal with Flickr is to share and find pictures that make me, and hopefully others, feel serene, happy, uplifted, inspired, encouraged, and basically feeling better for seeing the image. With this in mind, I remain in, and will join, those groups that not only claim to attract this kind of content, but the ones that they, and their members, follow through on.

Following:
I like some pictures that people put in there collection, but sometimes don't follow them because I try to keep the content of those I link to as family friendly as I can. In the cases that I find pictures that I like from their collection, I will "fave" them, and leave a comment, but generally not follow the account. I hope people understand this.

Another Way I like to use Flickr:
I like to enhance my own understanding of what people like, and gain insight into techniques others use to achieve a nice outcome. I welcome both constructive criticism and compliments on my pictures in the comments section, or Flickr email, but not ads or unrelated comments; these I may remove and block. Receiving constructive criticism and compliments, however, indicates the person viewing my images thought enough of them, or my work in general, to let me know what they thought, and why they liked it, or why they felt there was an issue with it that I may have overlooked. This helps me better understand my own work and how other's view it, and improve my technique going forward. So for these reasons I enjoy hearing people's feedback in this regard.

I appreciate all those that take the time to view my work, and especially those that give feedback on what they think about it, whether they like it or not.
Thank you.
