I started taking photographs with more thought back in 2003 when I was hiking in the Canadian Rockies. I didn’t really progress from there although I did buy digital cameras along the way.

In 2018 I bought a macro lens because I had some photographs in mind and I wasn’t finding any other creative outlet.

Since then I have become much more interested in becoming a better photographer and using photography to explore what excites me about the process.

I joined Flickr in July 2020 to start sharing my photos more widely and to help learn more about what people are seeing with their cameras.

I am fortunate that my partner is an avid gardener so I have a ready supply of macro subjects in the backyard. I have also found that I live in a great part of the world for photography; imagine Aberdeen’s grey skies being an asset! There is also a great variety of environments and natural beauty a walk from my front door.
