I am from a nautical family and am a retired sailor, now working ashore as a Navy Recruiter. My hobbies include research into the ship and boat building histories of the United Kingdom, generally, and of my hometown of Runcorn, more specifically.

I am the author of a book on the subject: Shipyards of the Upper Mersey.
