About the project - "Urban abstractions"
Melding architecture and a search for abstraction, this photography project seeks to investigate our perception of what is real by reinterpreting, through effects of light and symmetry, the different features of Luxembourg's urban heritage (Kirchberg towers, MUDAM, Philharmonie,Grand Duke palace, public parks, water towers...). This project is presented in several series, each of which explores different techniques and realms of the imagination, drawing inspiration from the fantastical tales of Italo Calvino ("Invisible cities"), the quest for the aesthetic undertaken by painters of the early 20th century (Malevich, Delaunay), the architectural fantasies of Zaha Hadid and Jean Nouvel, or even the geometrical motifs of wax print fabrics.
