I grew up on a dairy farm. That is probably the reason why I am fascinated by cows. Already as a boy, I learned the different breeds of cattle in the Netherlands. Later, when traveling abroad, I always tried to learn more about the local livestock. And when I bought a good camera, I tried to get the local livestock pictured. Here on Flickr I publish my photos, with short descriptions of the breeds. An overview of the 37 breeds is in the album "all the breeds"

Ik groeide op op een boerderij met melkkoeien. Daar is mijn facinatie voor koeien ontstaan. Al jong leerde ik de verschillende rassen in Nederland kennen. Later, bij reizen naar het buitenland, probeerde ik altijd meer te weten te komen over het lokale vee. En toen ik een goede camera had, probeerde ik ze op de foto te krijgen. Hier op Flickr zet ik de foto’s bij elkaar, met een beschrijving van de rassen.

Als u een verbetering heeft van de beschrijving, dan hoor ik dat graag.
