WELCOME to my collection of vintage jigsaw puzzles showing a world map from the beginning until 1946. As a child of 9 years I decided to assemble only map puzzles because they were coloured so beautiful - and they were easy to do. Since 2009 I started collecting modern cardboard puzzles with an antique world map. In 2014 I explored the world of the vintage and antique wooden jigsaw puzzles and since then I love to chase and collect them.

Jigsaw history: In the middle of the 18th century map makers and cartographers in Europe started to cut out maps which were fixed on wood. They called them "Dissected Maps". From the island the puzzle wave went to the continent: France, Germany and other european countries done their own "Dissections". And since at least the Great depression in 1929, jigsaw puzzles were a bestseller in the United States.
